About Sherborne Turf
Our History
Sherborne Turf was established in 1972 and what started as a family business supplying the local area with turf, has grown steadily to encompass all aspects of gardening, while maintaining its traditional values.
With offices located in the picturesque village of Trent, our turf is grown in high quality farmland which forms part of The Trent Estate, owned by the Ernest Cook Trust. The Estate is managed under schemes which help to safeguard the environment, and in keeping with this, our turf is grown without the help of netting, using a unique blend of grasses that will knit together to form a firm base.
From this location we are able to service an area within a 50 mile radius of Sherborne, using our own fleet of vehicles and drivers experienced in the handling of turf. Our vehicles include two artics with removable forklifts to manoeuvre the turf, one Hiab with a crane for lifting over high retaining walls, and a landrover with trailer for those tricky little spots.
As well as our quality turf, we also supply a full range of ameliorants, all locally sourced. Our topsoil is screened to 10mm and stored under cover in the winter, for delivery in bulk bags. Alternatively, loose loads are available for bulk orders, and these can be delivered using vehicles ranging from a 4-wheel tipper to an 8-wheel bulker, depending on your requirements. Our range of composts and mulches are also available from stock for immediate despatch, and with a wide variety to choose from, we have something to cover every aspect of your garden.
The landscape accessories and irrigation equipment we sell are the same type and quality used by our own experienced team of landscapers, and these reflect the same high standard Sherborne Turf has built its reputation on.
