WateringÂ
Most of us under-estimate the amount of water required for plants. During hot dry spells, gardens can be dry up to 6 inches in depth, and it can take an hour for water to soak down just 1 inch.
Newly laid turf needs to be almost saturated to begin, and kept moist thereafter. It is worth remembering that sprinkler systems invariably do not cover the entire lawn, and attention must be paid to the edges of turf rolls that will dry out quickly.
