How much does your turf cost?
The current price is £5.17 including VAT per square meter. There are bulk discounts available for ordering over a pallet (70m2) and for trade customers. Add the quantity required to your basket for the most accurate pricing or give us a call on 01935 850388.
How big are the turf rolls?
The turf rolls are 59cm (67") wide and unroll to 170cm long (23.2"). This calculates as 1m2. The weight of the roll can vary between 15kg and 30kg depending on the time of year and soil type which changes the moisture content of the rolls.
When do you start cutting turf?
We cut turf fresh to order, Monday to Friday all year around. Some days cutting may be delayed or it may not be possible to cut due to excessive rainfall and flooding, extreme heat and drought or hard frosts, but we will do our best to keep you informed ahead of your order.
How big are your bulk bags?
The bags measure 90cm x 90cm x 90cm and hold roughly 0.7m3 (0.7 of a cubic meter).
The density of the product in the bag will determine the weight of the bag. As a very rough guide, a bag of soil or aggregate weighs approximately 1 tonne, whereas our chipped barks and composts have a lower density and weigh approximately 350kg.
Is your turf grown on plastic netting?
No. All of our turf is sown from seed and matured over 12 to 18 months so that the roots forms the structure that holds the turf together. The Turfgrass Growers Association (TGA) of which we are members, have announced a bold and progressive step towards environmental sustainability by banning the use of plastic in turfgrass production entirely, effective from 31st October 2026.
Does your turf contain Rye Grass?
Yes our turf contains modern varieties of dwarf perennial rye grass, which offer heard wearing properties making the turf ideal as a general landscaping and lawn turf. This seed variety is also used by the Lawn Tennis Association at Wimbledon.
Are you open to the public?
Yes, we are open to both the landscaping trade and members of the public alike. We have a shop stocking a large selection of tools, machinery, seed, fertilisers and much more. We can be found at the Lawn & Landscape Centre, Marston Road, Sherborne, Dorset. DT9 4GH
Do you have a minimum Order?
No. You can collect as much or as little of any of our products as you require. We do not offer free delivery* on any sized order, so unfortunately sometimes the delivery rate may be cost prohibitive for small orders. Please contact us by phone if you have any problems processing a small order on 01935 850388.

Can I collect just one roll of turf?
Yes! Its always best to pre order as generally we cut the turf to order. At certain times of the year we will hold some in stock but we can never guarantee availability for drop in purchase of turf.
Do you provide a laying service?
Yes, unfortunately our sister company Queen Thorne Landscapes closed in March 2024 and we no longer provide this service. However, we work with numerous high quality landscapers that we can recommend so please get in touch and we can find the right landscaper for the size of project and your location.

I've just placed a click and collect order, can I collect today?
We will email you to confirm the earliest collection time as soon as we receive your order. For most products this should be the same day.
However, as turf is a natural living product, we cut it to order and therefore it may not always be available to collect same day. We cut a small number of spares for people to take away one or two rolls but we don't have larger numbers to prevent wastage. To avoid a wasted journey, it is always best to check with the sales team on 01935 850388
Can I choose a date for delivery?
During checkout, there is an option to choose a preferred date of delivery. Whilst we try to work with you on these dates, they are not guaranteed. If we cannot get to you on your preferred date, we will always contact you to arrange an alternative date.
